Option I – Guided City Sightseeing and Pilsner Historical Underground Tour

You will visit the Gothic Cathedral of St. Bartholomew, the most valuable monument of the historic core. The 102,6 m high tower (the highest church tower in the country) dominates the town center and offers a wonderful view of the surroundings which you will visit next (Municipal Hall, Synagogue and other icons of the city center).

After the City Sightseeing Tour you will be guided through a labyrinth of corridors, cellars and wells under the city centre, the building of which began as early as in the 14th century, and which have been an integral part of the city’s past and present. Come and feel the life down underground and unveil the secrets of its authentic niches and nooks.

The Tour will be continued by the National Evening in the Pilsner Urquell Brewery in the Spilka Restaurant from 19:30.

The history of the legendary Pilsner Urquell lager began in 1842 in the Pilsen brewery and since that time its fame has spread throughout the world, making it the inspiration for more than two-thirds of the beer produced in the world today, which are still called pils, pilsner, and pilsener. We shall guide you through our modern bottling plant and the historic and modern Pilsner Urquell brew house. The tour of the Pilsner Urquell brewery would not be complete without a visit to the historic brewery cellars, where you can taste unfiltered and unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell on tap straight from oak lager barrels.
